Inaugural class of distinguished honorees to be named to PSC Athletics Hall of Fame

Pensacola State College will celebrate the Pirates’ rich athletic history with a ribbon cutting and induction ceremony for the ten-member inaugural class of the Pensacola State College Athletics Hall of Fame on February 16, 2019. The event will be held on the Pensacola State campus, 1000 College Blvd, Pensacola in the Hartsell Arena. An observance will take place between the women’s and men’s basketball games against Gulf Coast Community College, with a banquet for inductees and their guests immediately following the end of the game. The Lady Pirates game will begin at 5:30.

“Pensacola State has a long and storied sports and athletic tradition,” said Bill Hamilton, who was the head baseball coach at Pensacola State from 1990-2010 and has since served as the College’s Athletic Director. “This Hall of Fame will stand as a reminder for all time that these awesome individuals got their start here.” Continue Reading Inaugural class of distinguished honorees to be named to PSC Athletics Hall of Fame

Pirates, Lady Pirates basketball players named to FCSAA All-Panhandle Conference Teams

Pensacola State College Pirates and Lady Pirates basketball players have been named to the Florida College System Activities Association All-Panhandle Conference Teams.

Nia Johnson and Naterria Luster were selected to the FCSAA All-Panhandle Conference First Team Women’s Basketball Team.

Pensacola State scholar-athletes earn collective 3.01 GPA

Pensacola State College’s student-athletes are impressive in and out of their respective sports arenas.

Lady Pirate basketball player commits to University of North Carolina Wilmington

Next fall, Ahyiona Vason will trade in her Lady Pirates garb to become a Seahawk at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

On Wednesday, Nov. 8, Vason a 5-foot 4-inch point guard, signed her Letter of Intent to play basketball at UNC Wilmington in 2018-19.

The Montgomery, Alabama, native will graduate in May with an associate degree in sports fitness and recreation management.
