Gateway courses are the first courses that provide transferable, college-level credit, allowing a student to progress in his or her program of study and align with a student’s academic pathway. Gateway courses are broken down into two categories: Communications and Mathematics. Specific gateway courses are ENC 1101, MAC 1105, MGF 1130, MGF 1131, and STA 2023. The College defines gateway course success as earned course grades of A, B, and C.

Improve student success through improved advising, providing an orientation course, and seeking ways to expand the retention and completion rates for all students.
The College also uses overall course success rates as measured by the type of instructional delivery method to demonstrate success with respect to student achievement. Instructional delivery methods include asynchronous online, face-to-face, hybrid, and synchronous online. The College defines course success as earned course grades of A, B, and C.
