Pensacola State’s Adult Education students recently collected food for Manna Food Bank. The students spread the word that they wanted to collect food and the entire PSC Family ─ students, staff and faculty ─ contributed a whopping 230 pounds of food.
WSRE, PBS for the Gulf Coast, is now accepting viewer questions for the upcoming broadcast of “Legislative Review: Dialogue with the Delegation” set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12.
Questions may be submitted in advance by email to questions@wsre.org. Every question must be accompanied by the person’s name and city of residence.
The following legislators of the Northwest Florida delegation are expected to participate: Sens. Doug Broxson (District 1) and George B. Gainer (District 2); and Reps. Clay Ingram (District 1), Frank White (District 2), Jayer Williamson (District 3) and Mel Ponder (District 4).
The program will be moderated by Jeff Weeks.
Some of Pensacola State’s Collegiate High students transformed the southwest entrance of Building 11 into a sea of purple pinwheels on Friday, Nov. 17.
The students – members of the high school’s Future Business Leaders of America chapter – planted 502 purple pinwheels in observance of the March of Dimes March for Babies Awareness Day.
“The students planted the 502 purple pinwheels to honor the 502 premature babies who were born in Escambia County in 2016,” explained FBLA adviser Evelyn Gant. “They also raised $150 for the nonprofit organization that works to improve the health of mothers and babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.”
It’s not too late to become a Pirate Booster. Pensacola State College Athletics wants you to become part of the team by joining the Pirate Booster Club.
“Our holiday tournaments and conference play are coming up and Pirate Booster Club member can receive all the benefits of being a Booster,” said Bill Hamilton, Pensacola State College Athletic Director.
Eight Pensacola State students were initiated into Alpha Gamma Eta, the college’s chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, on Wednesday, Nov. 15.
An international honor society in education, Kappa Delta Pi was founded in 1911 to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching.
