Pensacola State College will host an Opening Reception and a Night of Demonstrations for the Foo Foo Festival’s, “Women of Fire Exhibition.”
Set for 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, in the College’s Anna Lamar Switzer Center for Visual Arts, the reception and demonstrations of torch work, blacksmithing and glassblowing are open to the public.

Pensacola State’s Warrington campus will be spotlighted during the fourth annual Holiday Experience set for Dec. 6. The interactive evening will include stops at the Mary Ekdahl Smart Simulation Center, the Veterinary Technology Program and the Dental Clinic. Tickets are $75 and proceeds from the event will go to student scholarships and programs.
Pensacola State College is now a part of the University of South Alabama’s Pathway USA. The articulation agreement signed on Friday, Oct. 19, allows more PSC graduates to transfer to USA and earn bachelor’s degrees.
A former Pensacola State faculty member has left a large portion of his art collection to the College. Carl Duke, the head of the Visual Arts Department, bequeathed more than 400 pieces of artwork to the College after his passing this summer. Some pieces from the collection will be up for bid during the Bill Clover Memorial Auction set for 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, in the Anna Lamar Switzer Center for Visual Arts.

The University of South Alabama today announced that Pensacola State College has become part of “Pathway USA,” a collaborative program between the University of South Alabama and select community and state colleges that creates a seamless transition to USA for transfer students who earn their associate’s degree.
Pensacola State employees and students, along with the Pirates Baseball team, volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House on Friday, Oct. 5, to remove old beds and install 48 new beds in the facility.
Pensacola State volunteers removed old bedding and installed new beds in 26 guest rooms that provide a home away from home for families who travel to Pensacola to receive critical medical care for their children.

Bill Clover passed away in May of this year, but the beloved Pensacola State College visual arts professor will still impact the lives of future students.
The Bill Clover Memorial Auction will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, in the Charles W. Lamar Studio on the Pensacola campus. Funds from the auction will go toward the establishment of the Bill Clover Endowed Scholarship.

Nursing student Joanna Painter was the first Pirate to respond after she put her treasure-hunting skills to work. She knows her Zingers and correctly identified Miller’s Ale House as the site of the bounty. Painter is this month’s grand prize winner of the treasure.
This year – 2018 ─ has been a banner year for Pensacola State College student Jennifer Ojeda.
Along with being recognized for academic achievement and traveling internationally, Ojeda was selected the Florida College System Chancellor’s Clark Maxwell Scholar of the Month for September.

Pensacola State College will provide free dental sealant services to children age 17 and younger from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, on the Warrington campus.
No appointments are necessary, however patients must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
The Pensacola State College Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble will hold a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11.
