COLLEGE POLICE OFFICER

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or GED equivalency, valid driver’s license, and six months work experience in any field are required.  Must meet criminal justice minimum training for law enforcement officers as set up by the Florida Criminal Justice Standard and Training Commission as outlined in Florida Statutes 943.13 and/or 943.131.  Successful results of a criminal background check are required.   

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations.  Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. Duties: The College Police Officer position is a full-time career service position. The College Police Officer will perform a variety of duties in the carrying out of law enforcement, security, and safety operations involved with the protection of life and property, prevention of crime, and rendering of services. The College Police Officer will be assigned as an officer on any of the Pensacola State College campuses, work any shift assigned, and ensure the safety and security of college employees, students, visitors, and property. This position requires availability to work assignments throughout the district as well as working flexible hours including evenings and weekends. This position reports to Director, Public Safety/Chief of College Police.

Salary: $25,195.00 ($12.87) -

Duties: The Maintenance Specialist (HVAC) position is a 12-month full-time career service position. The Maintenance Specialist will be assigned to the second shift (1:30pm – 10:00pm) and will participate in a variety of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and boilers tasks, as well as other maintenance duties to insure the operation of equipment. The successful candidate will perform work in accordance to established codes, policies, and procedures; conduct inspections of assigned areas to insure completion of work assignments; estimate material and labor hours; order supplies and materials; maintain appropriate records; and perform preventive maintenance on an established schedule. Additionally, the Maintenance Specialist will be required to operate specialized equipment such as power tools, electrical testing devices, diagnostic equipment, air compressors, and a bucket truck to maintain lighting. These positions require availability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, as needed. These positions are currently located on the Pensacola Campus but may be assigned to other locations. These positions report to the Maintenance Supervisor (HVAC).

Duties: The Systems and Computer Operations Technician position is a 12-month career service position. The Systems and Computer Operations Technician will provide responsible operational and communication support for an enterprise server environment; monitor active jobs for adverse interactions that could affect efficiency; operate printers and verify quality control on all output; and initiate programs that provide the ability to recover data lost during equipment failure or major disaster. In addition, the Systems and Computer Operations Technician will maintain operating records for production schedules, equipment outage reports, and other system reports; monitor and notify the appropriate department(s) for all errors and malfunctions of the enterprise server environment; provide excellent customer service to diverse a group of employees; and work effectively as a team member and without close supervision. The Senior Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the Director, Student Financial Services as well as other professional staff as needed. The Senior Administrative Assistant will perform office management and administrative processes for the department, including, but not limited to, providing assistance to students, faculty, staff, and public; coordinating daily activities; preparing correspondence, reports, payroll documents, and other College forms; maintaining accurate filing systems (electronic and hard copy); monitoring and reconciling department budget expenditures; scheduling appointments and meetings. Additional duties will include composing minutes, memorandums, answering multi-line telephone, processing mail, ordering equipment and supplies; handling multiple priorities; and exercising considerable latitude for judgment, and discretion concerning highly confidential matters.
