ACCOUNTING INSTRUCTOR

Graduation from an accredited institution with a master’s degree in Accounting and a CPA license. Successful results of a background check are required.  

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Duties: The Accounting Instructor position is a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position with an anticipated start date of January 2018. The successful candidate will teach courses in Accounting at the baccalaureate and associate degree programs as assigned. This position requires the effective teaching and advising of diverse students, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to the comprehensive state college mission. The instructor will prepare course plans and materials, effectively deliver course content, monitor student attendance and progress, participate on departmental and College committees, participate in curriculum development, support activities that foster retention, participate in the selection of textbooks, perform the assessment of student learning outcomes, and take part in other service and professional development activities. Multiple campus, day, evening, and distance learning teaching assignments are possible. This position reports to the District Academic Department Head, Business.

Salary: $34,828.00 - $40,828.00 (Entry level salary is computed and based on authority of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.)

Duties: The Systems Support Analyst position is a full-time professional/managerial position. The Systems Support Analyst will provide highly responsible technical administration and support for a rapidly expanding enterprise server infrastructure within a state-of-the-art wide area network. The infrastructure consists of a variety of hardware, software applications and databases, most of which are Microsoft based utilizing multiple standard communications protocols. This position requires availability to work throughout the district as well as working flexible hours including evenings and weekends. This position reports to the Director of Systems Support Services.

Salary: $55,000.00 - $68,000.00 (Depending on the qualifications, the salary is negotiable.)

Minimum Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in English or a related field is required.  Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations.  Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position.  A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Prefer experience tutoring in a lab setting; experience teaching and/or tutoring developmental English; and experience using educational software and/or instructional technology.

Duties: The Writing Lab Specialist is a full-time professional/managerial position. The Writing Lab Specialist will provide professional tutoring services in writing and related topics to students throughout the district and online and will deliver a range of workshops as needed and assigned by the District Supervisor, Learning Lab. He or she will also create and maintain materials, including diagnostic instruments, remediation materials, and grammar and writing resources. He or she will provide training and materials to part-time tutors to ensure consistency of services, will assist the District Supervisor, Learning Lab, with data collection, and will contribute to the Writing Lab’s presence on social media. The Writing Lab Specialist reports to the District Academic Department Head, English and Communications.

Salary: $28,000.00 - $34,000.00 (Depending on the qualifications, the salary is negotiable. However, the college does not generally hire at the top of the range.)
