ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

Duties: The Accounting Specialist position is a full-time career service position. The Accounting Specialist will participate in advanced and complex accounting tasks involving the maintenance of financial records and related data; reconcile accounts, post ledgers, maintain journal entries, audit journal entries, prepare check requisitions; and submit regular and specialized accounting reports. Additionally, the Accounting Specialist will coordinate the activities of support staff, monitor work performance for accuracy and completeness to ensure compliance with established departmental standards; participate in the signing of vouchers and checks, preparation of depository reports, and the retention of appropriate accounting records. This position may be required to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, during peak registration periods. This position reports to the Bursar.

Salary: $26,500.00 ($13.54/hour) -

Duties: The Admissions and Information Specialist position is a full-time career service position. The Admissions and Information Specialist will perform highly responsible administrative duties requiring detailed knowledge of college admissions policies, general enrollment requirements for all types of degrees and certificates, and resources for college and community students. The Admissions and Information Specialist serves as a one-stop liaison between the general public and district collegiate admissions offices by staying informed about general college information as well as detailed rules, regulations, and statutes. Additionally, the Admissions and Information Specialist will provide general enrollment, financial aid, testing information and student resources information to prospective students; maintain current and accurate knowledge of residency requirements as established by law; review and process admissions applications and student intake for potential students; take independent action to locate information and resolve problems; and perform some administrative functions associated with day-to-day operations. The Admissions and Information Specialist must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with employees and the public. This position reports to the Assistant Director, Admissions and Records.

Salary: $23,000.00 ($11.75/hour) -

ART HISTORY INSTRUCTOR

This position requires effective teaching and advising of diverse students, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to the comprehensive state college mission. The instructor will prepare course plans and materials, effectively deliver subject matter content, monitor student attendance and progress, participate on departmental and College committees, participate in curriculum development, support activities that foster retention, participate in the selection of textbooks, assess student learning outcomes, and take part in other service and professional development activities. Multiple campus, day, evening, and distance learning teaching assignments are possible. This position reports to the Department Head, Visual Arts.

Salary: $35,880.00 - $41,880.00 for a 9-month contract with a master’s degree.

The successful candidate will serve as interface with department personnel to obtain information to verify or support financial records and to answer inquiries concerning accounting procedures; provide exceptional customer service by answering student inquiries, researching and explaining student accounts and assessing situations that may need to be escalated to a supervisor; supervise and coordinate the activities of supportive staff personnel; and monitor work performance for accuracy and completeness to ensure compliance with established departmental standards. This position will be primarily located at the Pensacola Campus but may be assigned to work at various campuses in support of student enrollment at the College, and require availability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends. This position reports to the Coordinator, Student Financial Services.

CERAMICS INSTRUCTOR

The College Police Officer will perform a variety of duties in the carrying out of law enforcement, security, and safety operations involved with the protection of life and property, prevention of crime, and rendering of services; patrol campus, regulate pedestrian and vehicular traffic, write detailed reports, and provide escorts for individual’s on campus and transport currency. The College Police Officer will be assigned on any of the Pensacola State College campuses or locations, requires availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and may perform dispatcher duties as needed. The successful candidate will be enrolled into the FRS Special Risk Class, and eligible for education incentive under F.S. 943.17. This position reports to the Director, Public Safety/Chief of College Police.

Duties: The Computer Systems Analyst position is a full-time professional position. The Computer Systems Analyst will support and enhance the administrative applications for finance, HR/payroll, and student records. The computer systems analyst will develop equipment-oriented procedures such as conversion of an application from one computer system to another, provide solutions for a management information retrieval problem, and process simple generalized inquiry programs set. Additionally, the Computer Systems Analyst will analyze functional specifications of a complex program to design and develop detailed specifications and general flow charts for assigned routines; provide internal program interfaces; estimate and plan own work under general supervision; and seek to improve existing programming techniques to meet assigned objectives. This position requires availability to work occasional evening and weekend hours as well as in-district and overnight travel. This position reports to the Director, MIS Support.

Salary: $35,000.00 - $50,000.00 (Depending on the qualifications, the salary is negotiable.)

Duties: The Senior Administrative Assistant is a full-time career service position. The Senior Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support to the Dean, General Studies or Dean, Baccalaureate Studies and Academic Support. The Senior Administrative Assistant position is a complex position with a high degree of responsibility for interdepartmental coordination and public interface. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: providing assistance, as directed, to other departments and programs; processing a variety of correspondence and automated forms for signature (agendas, payroll, accounting documents, purchase requisitions, travel documents, etc.); assisting with preparation of various academic functions and activities; providing assistance in managing and tracking multiple projects; and maintaining administrative records related to the departmental functions. The Senior Administrative Assistant must provide excellent customer service, exercise judgment and discretion concerning confidential matters, and demonstrate the ability to work efficiently and independently. This position may require working flexible hours including evenings and weekends during peak periods. The position reports to the Dean, General Studies or Dean, Baccalaureate Studies and Academic Support.

Some evening and weekend work assignments may be required, as well as in and out of district travel. This position reports to the Assistant Dean, Student Services.

Duties: The Truck Driver/Laborer Lead position is a full-time career service position. The Truck Driver/Laborer Lead will perform work leader functions by organizing and working with laborers at the job site to locate, pick up, and deliver equipment as listed on property dispositions, work orders, and job tickets; operate the material handling van, dump truck, fork lift, and other College vehicles; use moving equipment and applicable skills to ensure protection of workers, furniture, computers, and buildings from damage during handling and transporting; and assume responsibility of the work crew organization and production in the absence of the Laborer Supervisor. This position requires lifting, standing, bending, and/or stooping for long periods of time, and may be subjected to inclement weather conditions. The successful candidate may be required to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, throughout the district. This position reports to the Laborer Supervisor.

Salary: $18,550.00 ($9.47/hour) -
