Come enjoy the original music of mostly local composers at Pensacola ComposerFest XVIII, at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, September 24, at Pensacola State College’s Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium, Building 8, on the Pensacola campus.
The free event provides an opportunity to hear a variety new music written by contemporary composers, most of whom are attending the event. 8 of the 13 compositions on the concert will be world premieres. Pensacola ComposerFest XVIII will present works by the following composers: Michael Coleman, Kevin Fails, Matthew Fossa, Luke Graham, Troy Von Harris, Jr., Benjamin Naman, Kadisha Onalbayeva, Israel Railing, Rebecca M. Reed, Jerry Sieg, Joseph T. Spaniola, Pierre Thilloy, and Robert Voisey.
Steinway Artist Kadisha Onalbayeva will be performing on four of the works and she will be joined by pianists Michael Coleman, Luke Graham, Troy Von Harris, Jr., Benjamin Naman, Israel Railing, Rebecca M. Reed, and Blake Riley. Other performers are Matthew Fossa (oboe), Kenn Hughes (trombone), Brooke Langley (flute), Brooklyn McCoy (cello), Christopher Sacco (alto saxophone), and Amelia Velasco (viola).
