Pensacola State College instructor/program director Julie Burger was doing a little part-time weekend work at Walgreens until recently.
Pensacola State College graduate Alessandro Bailetti recently co-authored a research paper titled “Enhancer of Polycomb/Tip60 represses hematological tumor initiation by negatively regulating JAK/STAT pathway activity.”
Pensacola State College will hold auditions for “The Producers” at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 23-24, in Ashmore Auditorium, Building 8, on the Pensacola campus, 1000 College Blvd.
Gail Perry knows how to find money. Little pockets of money here and there. At times, she finds enough money to fill the deepest of pockets. She’s found more than $500 million to date. And you don’t find that much money looking under couch cushions.
Pensacola State’s SkillsUSA student-members made an exceptional showing at the organization’s national conference held in June. Six students place in the Top 10 at the conference. Several Pensacola State employee also were recognized for years of service.
Pensacola State’s RN to BSN program has once again been recognized as one of the best. In its 2019 Best Online RN to BSN Programs rankings, Pensacola State was listed at No. 4 in Florida by RegisteredNursing.org.
The College’s Association of Florida Colleges chapter will begin a monthly spotlight of deserving members. The chapter also recently elected its 2019-2020 officers.
Pensacola’s own Bob Culkeen has been elected the vice chairman of the Florida Public Media organization. Culkeen, WSRE’s general manager, will join officers from all over Florida on the statewide board.
There are different kinds of trouble – however car trouble and needing a place to live are among the worst. Pensacola State’s TRIO-Student Support Services was able to help a student repair her car. She in turn played it forward and was able to come to the aid of another student in need.
The College’s Veterinary Technology Program has donated supplies to help other facilities and organizations in need.
Debbie Douma, Pensacola State College’s dean of grants and federal programs, will share fundraising secrets during a PSC Nonprofit Center for Excellence and Philanthropy workshop.
Pensacola State College received a $100,000 donation for scholarships from Dona and Milton Usry on Wednesday, Aug. 7.
Some Pensacola State College offices will be open extended hours during the peak fall registration period.
