The “Show & Tell! [4]” Annual Faculty Exhibition is on display through March 6 at the Anna Lamar Switzer Center for Visual Arts.
The studio is located inside the Anna Lamar Switzer Center for Visual Arts at PSC, where the collection’s creators teach students art history, ceramics, drawing, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and two- and three-dimensional design.
On Tuesday evening, a reception was held at the exhibit in honor of the following featured artists: Micah Cain, assistant professor of art – Ceramics; Anna Cavnar, art instructor – Art History/Foundations; Mark Alan Francis, professor of art – Photography; Kristen Regan, professor of art – Photography; Jimmy Rhea, assistant professor of art – Sculpture & 3D Design; Paul Work, associate professor of art – Drawing & 2D Design; and adjunct art instructors Stacy Martin, Sarah Rhea, Rebecca Wakefield, Chelsea Weaver and Christopher White; and Terri Nichols, Visual Arts Department administrative assistant.
White’s large black-and-white photographs of Blackwater National Forest, which help anchor the exhibit, were recently returned to him from Florida’s Capitol, where they were displayed as part of the Capitol Complex Exhibit Program.
“These four images are a small selection from a larger body of work created over a decade-long project exploring off-the-beaten-path locations in the Blackwater National Forest,” said White, art facilities coordinator at PSC. “They were selected by the curator of the Capitol Gallery to represent all of Northwest Florida, and this exhibition offers the opportunity for me to show them locally, as well.”
Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday–Thursday; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday; and by appointment. Admission is free and open to the public. Visit visualarts.pensacolastate.edu for more information.
