Introduction to the English Associate in Arts (AA) - University Transfer Program
This program is designed for students who wish to pursue a degree in English at a university. Students who complete this program will be ready to enter their junior year with a rich background in American or English Literature complemented by related elective courses.
Students should consult with an advisor at the college or university they plan to attend for the specific courses recommended by that institution. The interested student should contact the English and Communications department for assistance in planning the program of study.
Beyond Graduation . . .
This program is designed for students who wish to pursue a degree in English at a university. Students who complete this program will be ready to enter their junior year with a rich background in American and English Literature complemented by related elective courses.
Occupations
Communications Teacher, Postsecondary
Teach courses in communications, such as organizational communications, public relations, radio/television broadcasting, and journalism. Includes both teachers primarily engaged in teaching and those who do a combination of teaching and research.
Photographer
Photograph people, landscapes, merchandise, or other subjects, using digital or film cameras and equipment. May develop negatives or use computer software to produce finished images and prints. Includes scientific photographers, aerial photographers, and photojournalists.
Poet, Lyricist and Creative Writer
Copy Writer
Write advertising copy for use by publication or broadcast media to promote sale of goods and services.
Editor
Plan, coordinate, or edit content of material for publication. May review proposals and drafts for possible publication. Includes technical editors.
