Students from the Pensacola State College Visual Arts Department won 27 ADDY awards at AAF Pensacola’s Creative Rodeo-themed American Advertising Awards gala on Friday, Feb. 20.
The ADDYs recognize creative excellence across all media. The AAF Student Division of the competition is open to full- and part-time college students and student interns attending accredited U.S. post-secondary educational institutions.
Fourteen PSC students submitted winning entries as follows:
Ben Word received four awards, winning both Gold and Silver ADDYs in two categories: Still Photography/Color/Single and Still Photography/Digitally Enhanced/Single.
Other winners in the Still Photography/Color/Single category were Andrew Johnson, with one Gold and three Silver ADDYs; Benjamin Calloway, with one Gold and one Silver ADDY; and Jason Mulvihill, Miranda Betts and Natalee Stuart, each with two Silver ADDYs.
Betts also won a Silver ADDY in the Collateral Material/Publication Design/Cover category, and Stuart also won a Silver ADDY in the Integrated Brand Identity Campaign/Single category.
Seth Mitchell received a Gold ADDY in the Product of Service Sales Promotion category and a Silver ADDY in the Integrated Brand Identity Campaign/Single category.
Sarah Brown also won a Gold ADDY in the Integrated Brand Identity Campaign/Single category.
Silver ADDYs were also awarded to Megan Bryant (Art Direction/Campaign), Lydia Evans (Television Advertising/Single), Lillian Grantham (Still Photography/Digitally Enhanced/Single), Christina Hanna (Still Photography/Black & White/Single), Sydni Hutchens (Still Photography/Color/Single) and Kaitlyn Provo (Still Photography/Campaign).
“We had a great showing at this year’s ADDYs. This was especially true for our photography students. Their work simply dominated the evening,” said graphic design instructor Francesco (Frank) Donato. “Overall, it was another productive evening with a variety of our students connecting with future employers. I was pleased to see that a lot of business cards were being exchanged.”
