Historical nonfiction author, Christine Broderick Emmanuel
Pensacola, Fla. – Historical nonfiction author Christine Broderick Emmanuel has composed an expansive, detailed, and lively narrative of the illustrious “Westcotts” who have shaped our nation’s course since the Winthrop Fleet set sail for America. The factual depiction of historic events, notable figures, and personal anecdotes stimulates thinking about legacy and the enduring spirit that connects generations.
On Jan 7, 2025, Emmanuel self-published The Westcott Story: The Enduring Spirit of an American Family Spanning 400 Years, Volume I and Volume II. Weaving history into the storyline while chronicling 22 generations in her matrilineage, Emmanuel enlivens the sheer grit and resilience of family members and cultural icons across 14 generations in America from 1630 to 2024.
The author did not set out to write her family’s story. Rather, the story found her with the fortuitous genealogical motherlode that appeared at her doorstep in August 2020. The rich, dense trove contained a vital pedigree chart and family histories published in 1886, 1907, 1932, and 1991 among numerous other treasures. Emmanuel opted to write as she learned, quickly discovering the historical significance of her enthralling lineage across 790 years in England and America. The chronicle ends in 2024 with every reason for hope for the “GEN 14” fledglings among us.
The Westcott Story is a compelling read for anyone interested in our cultural heritage, genealogy, authentic human-interest stories, and the ties that bind us. The educational and entertainment value of the inextricably-linked family and national histories will especially resonate as Americans prepare to celebrate the semiquincentennial of our independence in 2026.The Westcott Story is sold at Amazon.com and select bookstores via IngramSpark.
