Students: Mark your calendar for an opportunity to kickstart your academic journey confidently.
Pensacola State College will host its inaugural Pirate Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Pensacola campus, where activities will occur in Buildings 2, 4 and 6. The event offers a streamlined, student-focused experience to assist prospective and current students with essential academic services, ensuring a strong start to the upcoming semester.
Pirate Saturday will bring together staff from key departments, including Admissions, Financial Aid, Advising, Registration, TRiO, Testing Support, and Veterans Affairs, providing personalized assistance in one convenient location. The event is intended to support students struggling to access services during regular College hours.
“Pirate Saturday is about removing barriers and empowering students to succeed,” said Dr. Jon Stephenson, Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs. “This dedicated time allows students to connect with the team and receive the support needed to thrive.”
As the start of the next semester approaches, Pirate Saturday offers an opportunity to complete necessary tasks, such as finalizing paperwork, securing academic advising, applying for financial aid and preparing for course registration.
“Pirate Saturday makes it easy for students to accomplish everything in one visit,” Stephenson said. “The College recognizes the demands of busy schedules and is committed to providing additional access for students preparing for a successful semester.”
The event is open to all prospective and current students. Attendees are encouraged to bring required documents, such as photo identification, academic transcripts, and financial aid paperwork, to expedite services.
Start the year strong. Go, Pirates!
