Now is the time, Pensacola State has kicked off it 2017-18 United Way of Escambia County fundraising campaign and the college and community need your support. Campaign co-chairs – Butch Branch and Michael Listau – say any amount will help the United Way assist neighbors and friends and even our students here.
The 2017 income tax filing season is upon us and you can get your taxes prepared and filed for free. Once again, Pensacola State College has joined the United Way of Escambia County and other community and business partners to provide free tax services to area families who earn less than $66,000 per year.
Pensacola State College has been awarded $1.86 million for workforce training programs. The college was one of nine entities to receive a portion of $85 million in Florida Job Growth Grant Funds. The funds will be used to increase the number of students earning industry-recognized credentials and degrees.
Pensacola State College will be well-represented at this year’s SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference. More than 40 Pensacola State students won 19 gold medals, 11 silver medals and four bronze medals at the Region 1 SkillsUSA Conference held in February. The students will compete in the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference set for April 29-May 2 – which Pensacola State is hosting.
Pensacola State College’s Brain Bowl Team recently hosted the 2018 Brain Bowl Panhandle Regional Tournament. Six teams from across the Florida Panhandle competed with Chipola College winning the tourney and advancing to the state competition set for March.
Pensacola State College’s Gerald Williams has been on fire – so much so that he has been named a NJCAA Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 12-18. The guard helped the Pirates basketball team defeat No. 1 ranked Northwest Florida State College and Tallahassee State College.
Students enrolled in Pensacola State College’s Adult Education Program have made it a mission to take care of their fellow Pirate family members. The students recently collected and donated more than 100 food items to the PSC Food Pantry.

In March, Pensacola State College is hosting its second Campus Safety Month 2018 with speakers, workshops, seminars and sessions to address these concerns and more. Events are scheduled at all campuses – Pensacola, Milton and Warrington – and the Century and South Santa Rosa centers.
