31st annual forestry conclave, lumberjack fest set for March 2 on PSC Milton campus

MILTON – Pole tossing, axe throwing, cross-cut sawing, bluegrass music and more are scheduled for the 31st Annual Northwest Florida Forestry Conclave and Lumberjack Festival.

Set for 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Pensacola State College’s Milton Campus, 5988 U.S. 90, the free festival offers something for every age including children’s activities, delectable foods, collectible automobiles, nature and wildlife exhibits.

PSC music student wins Florida College System scholarship

Brenan Woody, a Pensacola State College classical guitar student, received the First Prize in the 2019 Florida College System Activity Association Winter Music Symposium’s Student Artist Competition. Woody, a music major, was awarded a $1,000 per year scholarship to help pay his tuition at any Florida university for two years. Woody has been studying with Dr. Joe Stallings for three semesters. He performed Nikita Kidskin’s “Usher Waltz” during the competition.

Give Kids A Smile Day to be held Saturday on Pensacola State’s Warrington campus

Pensacola State College will provide free dental services on Give Kids A Smile Day set for 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, on the Warrington campus.

Dental hygiene and dental services, including cleanings, simple extractions, fillings and sealants, will be provided, on a first-come basis for children ages 4-14. Patients must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
