Pensacola State recently honored the 2018 Supervisor and Employees of the Year. Some have worked at the College less than 10 years while others have called Pensacola State home for more than 30 years. And then there’s an employee who has been at the College since he was a teenager. All-in-all, they are the best of us.
The U.S. Department of Education lists Pensacola State College as a best value among public four-year colleges and universities for the seventh consecutive year.
Pensacola State is ranked 37th on the list of 71 institutions cited for lowest tuition in the U.S. Department of Education’s College Affordability and Transparency annual report. With annual tuition listed as $2,704, Pensacola State is eighth among the 25 Florida colleges to make the most affordable ranking.
Two Pensacola State College veterinary science students were placed at the 2018 HOSA National Leadership Conference held June 27-30 in Dallas.
Katherine Gaskill won third place while Christina Zaccardi placed fourth in the Postsecondary/Collegiate Event for Veterinary Science.

“I want people to know that I am here as a resource to help direct students and hopefully help more Pensacola State College students to become Seminoles,” Masters explained.
Masters is an admissions officer who helps guide students through Direct Connect – Pensacola State College to Florida State University Panama City, a program which enables Pensacola State students who have earned an Associate of Arts degree to make a seamless transition to FSU Panama City to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
More than 30 local high school students will be featured in Pensacola State College’s 28th annual Summer High School Onstage Workshop production of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”
Set to be staged July 20-22 and July 27-29, Friday and Saturday performances are 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees are 2:30 p.m. in the Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium, Building 8, on the Pensacola campus.

More than 120 of Pensacola State’s best and brightest students were honored for their academic achievements at the 2018 Student Excellence Awards Ceremony held in April.
Some of Pensacola State College’s Robinson Honors Scholars will spend the next few days becoming “citizens of the world” as they learn about Costa Rica. During the 10-day trip, the six scholars along with 14 other Pensacola State students and three faculty members will assist with sea turtle conservation efforts, dine with the Bri Bri indigenous tribe and even visit Territorio de Zaguates, a no-kill dog sanctuary that is home to hundreds of strays.
Ronnie Rivera came to Pensacola Junior College to satisfy a bet. His gamble paid off in more ways than he could imagine. Today, the Pensacola resident is working toward a master’s degree from Texas A&M University.
