PSC’s Milton Campus Rolled Out the Fun

The 35th annual Northwest Florida Forestry Conclave Lumberjack Festival was held on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Milton campus and offered something for everyone, from competitions like Bow Sawing, Axe Throw, Pole Toss and Log Roll to food trucks from area restaurants and vendor stands selling merchandise. There were even inflatables and face painting for those who were a bit younger at heart to enjoy. Many competitors, spectators and community members turned out for the event to enjoy the beautiful weather and spirited fun.

This year’s head judge was PSC Humanities and Social Sciences Department Head Scott Schackmann, who said, “The lumberjack festival was a success to me! We were very fortunate to have beautiful weather, which set the perfect tone for a day filled with energy and excitement. One of the highlights for me was seeing how participants came together for the pair and team events. Even those without partners easily found new teammates among their fellow competitors, showcasing community spirit at its finest. The camaraderie was palpable, and it was truly heartwarming to see everyone supporting each other.”
