Pensacola State College honored its finest during the 2025 Student Excellence Awards ceremony held April 17 in the Jean and Paul Amos Performance Studio. The annual event recognizes more than 100 exceptional students for their academic success, leadership and commitment to service.
Michael Listau, Dean of Workforce Education, served as Master of Ceremonies, welcoming honorees and guests to an evening themed “A Tradition of Excellence.” In his opening remarks, PSC President Ed Meadows reflected on the College’s proud legacy of student achievement, noting that this year’s ceremony continued decades of celebrating dedication, hard work and leadership.
Newly appointed PSC Board of Trustees member and Escambia County Chief Deputy Andrew Hobbs also addressed the crowd, commending the honorees for their resilience and drive.
“Thank you for being future leaders, for doing what’s hard,” said Hobbs. “It’s easy to stay at home, to get by. But you chose the harder path. You chose to push yourself every day, to strive for more – but you’ve done it and keep doing it, making you exceptional.”
Hobbs underscored the close-knit nature of the PSC community, adding, “Your success is our success, and our success is yours. We are a family at Pensacola State.”
Following the remarks, College leaders presented awards to the student honorees, celebrating their extraordinary contributions on campus and beyond.
The Student Excellence Awards remain one of the College’s most meaningful traditions, showcasing the extraordinary students who embody PSC’s mission and values both in the classroom and throughout the community.
