
Escambia County Utilities Authority is among the employers scheduled to participate in the annual Career and Technical Education (CTE) Job Fair at Pensacola State College on February 5.
February is National Career and Technical Education Month, hailing the value of CTE programs in preparing students for career success. Pensacola State College kicks off its celebration with the annual CTE Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, at the Pensacola campus Student Center in Bldg. 5.

Other events planned for CTE Month are as follows:
- Veterans can enjoy free food and cake during the Veterans Resource Fair from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the back of Bldg. 6 near the Veterans Upward Bound office.
- The annual Dress for Success event, held in conjunction with the Pirates CARE Student Resource Center, takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, at the Pensacola campus Student Center. Food will be provided.
- CTE Student Resources is partnering with Student Activities on the Warrington campus for a Homecoming Celebration with free food and cake from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Student Affairs Building, Bldg. 3600.
- The CTE Month celebration wraps up with the annual Beads and Burgers event on Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Bldg. 5 gazebo on the Pensacola campus. Free food, including Mardi Gras desserts prepared by PSC Culinary Management students, will be served to students from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and free tinsel hair extensions will be offered by PSC Cosmetology students from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
“National CTE Month in February celebrates, raises awareness and honors the impact of Career and Technical Education in equipping students with the essential hands-on skills for high-demand careers,” said Deborah Hooks, director of Career and Technical Education Student Resources at PSC.
CTE Student Resources helps build the future workforce by connecting education to real-world skills. The program serves PSC students who are working toward an Associate of Science degree, vocational certificate or college credit certificate, equipping them with the academic and technical skills needed to begin their careers. Qualifying students and alumni are eligible to receive textbook loans, scholarships, career advising, resume assistance, professional development and computer lab access.
