What’s blooming at the free Spring Festival of Flowers on the Pensacola State College Milton campus? Virtually anything plant enthusiasts could want – and more!
The University of Florida/IFAS and the PSC Milton campus will host the Annual Spring Festival of Flowers from Friday, April 4, through Sunday, April 6, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Highlights include a variety of plants, flowers, herbs, garden supplies, arts and crafts and food. Food trucks from Veronica’s Dream, Shotgun Barbecue, and Dragon Express will keep attendees’ bellies full, along with ice cream and coffee vendors to keep the day going.
The public is invited to indulge their green thumbs, eat some great food, and enjoy the lovely spring weather. The festival is handicapped accessible and has an ATM on site.
The event raises scholarship funds for Pensacola State and the University of Florida students. The University of Florida Plant Science and Natural Resource Conservation programs have been on the Milton campus since 1995; both are Bachelor of Science degrees.
Event coordinator Robin Vickers said, “The money raised from the event helps our students with scholarships, field trips and outdoor experiences.”
Vickers took over the event in 2010, and it’s the 14th event with the University of Florida. Currently, all 125 vendor spots have been filled. “I love all the different and unique plants featured at the event – things you just can’t find at ‘big box’ stores. Our arts and crafts vendors also provide many unique gift items”
Be sure to bring your friends and a wagon to the Pensacola State College Milton campus, 5988 Highway 90 for this great day out!
