Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE )

The TABE is a national skill assessment exam for all adult learners enrolled in certificate programs.

  • Measures reading, mathematics, and language skills.
  • Used to place learners in classes which will help sharpen their skills in areas where the students demonstrated deficiencies.
  • Conducted before enrollment or in the first six weeks of enrollment at district campus sites.
  • Students are required to improve skill levels in mathematics or communications before completion of the vocational program in which they are enrolled.
