Cooperative Education

Cooperative Education provides students the opportunity to supplement classroom study with on-the-job experience closely related to the student's course of study and individual interest and earn academic credit toward their degree. Co-op is a planned, paid work experience which may extend for more than one semester.  Many programs are co-op eligible.

Cooperative Education Eligibility
A student must meet the following criteria to qualify for Cooperative Education:
  • Be currently enrolled for a minimum of six semester hours
  • Complete a minimum of 12 semester hours (does not include prep classes)
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Attend an orientation session with a Co-op coordinator

The following two forms are typically due within the first two weeks of the student beginning his/her co-op assignment. These forms can be filled out online. Be sure to "Save As" to save completed form. Once printed/signed fax or scan the document to Co-op Office.

College Work Study Programs
Student Job Services is now assisting qualified students with placement within the Work Study programs.  Placement opportunities for these programs are limited and not everyone who qualifies can be placed.  Student Job Services can assist you with other job opportunities which are linked to the website.
Federal Work Study Program (FWSP)
Is a federally-funded, need-based program designed to pay students with established economic need for campus work. Eligible students are identified by the Financial Aid Office and are assigned to the college departments by the Student Job Services Office.
Florida Work Experience Program (FWEP)
Is a state-funded, needs-based program designed for eligible Florida citizens and provides a work experience to complement and reinforce educational and career goals (funding is limited). Eligible students are identified by the Financial Aid Office and are assigned to the college departments by the Student Job Services Office.
