Share Photos & Memories with Virtual Museum
9/27/2007 The Santa Rosa Virtual Museum, sponsored by Pensacola Junior College, wants you to share your old photos and memories.

The museum is an interactive Web site that intends to document the history of Santa Rosa County through a series of photographs with descriptions, interactive maps and multimedia stories, in addition to a photo gallery of artifacts from local museums and private collections. The project is funded with a grant from the Florida Humanities Council.

Virtual Museum volunteers will be available at several locations during “October’s Beaches to Woodlands Tour” to scan photographs and interview residents about people and places that make up Santa Rosa County’s rich history.

Volunteers are accepting materials 1 to 4 p.m. at these locations:

• Oct. 5, Jay Library, City of Jay Community Center, 5259 Booker Lane
• Oct. 13, Munson Heritage Festival, Krul Lake, Hwy. 4
• Oct. 20, Bagdad Art Stroll, Milligan House, 4516 Church St.
• Oct. 26, Gulf Breeze Library, 1060 Shoreline Drive

You also can make an appointment with project director Christina Drain. Contact her at 484-1458 or srvirtualmuseum@pjc.edu.
