Catch a Wave! Take PJC Surfing 101
4/12/2006 Surf’s up and Pensacola Junior College continuing education is offering Surfing 101 April 27 through May 6 for anyone wanting to learn how to catch a wave.

The course is split into class and beach time. Class instruction is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, PJC campus, Building 4, Room 442. Beach instruction is 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays at Pensacola Beach. The exact beach location is decided during class.

Cost is $45.

Beginning surfers learn and experience the fundamentals of surfing, including how to correctly paddle a surfboard, catch a wave and ride the wave in a standing position. The course also thoroughly covers beach and water recreation safety issues.

Surfboards provided.
