"Pick a Bowl for Manna"
10/25/2011

Pensacola State College and Manna Food Bank invite the greater Northwest Florida community to the exciting and fun annual “Pick a Bowl for Manna” event that benefits the hungry.

“Pick a Bowl for Manna” is 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Anna Lamar Switzer Center for Visual Arts, Building 15, on the Pensacola campus.

The fundraiser features a colorful variety of hand-made bowls by area artists and Pensacola State College Visual Arts faculty and students – as well as the Art Faculty Exhibition, music by contemporary jazz-pop band “Infusion,” hors d’oeuvres and beverages.

Come watch artists throw clay at potters’ wheels and purchase bowls that make great gifts for the holidays. Free gift-wrapping!

No admission fee, simply a donation to support the area’s hungry.

Many bowls created at the event will be glazed and fired and be available at the companion event, “Fill a Bowl for Manna” Jan. 14 at Manna’s main pantry on Gonzalez Street. This popular segment of the fundraiser features delicious soups by area chefs, bowls for purchase, a silent auction and more.

Manna is a non-profit organization that fights hunger in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, annually serving more than 36,000 people.
