Pensacola State College a Top College in Nation
Community College Week magazine ranks Pensacola State College as one of the best colleges in the nation for awarding associate degrees.
The Community College Week annual Top 100 Associate Degree Producers report ranks Pensacola State College in the Top 50 at No. 9 under four-year institutions for degrees awarded in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities. Pensacola State places No. 23 under four-year institutions for associate degrees awarded in all disciplines.
The college also ranked in the Top 100 for associate degrees awarded to African Americans, American Indians and non-minorities.
“The rankings are important to the college because they show that our students are successfully completing degree programs,” says Pensacola State College President Ed Meadows. “This data shows that we have a support system in place to give our students every opportunity to succeed – we have academic advisors, financial aid, small classes and caring faculty.”
The Community College Week data is for the 2010 academic year.
The complete rankings are published in the June 13 issue of the higher-education publication and can be found online at http://www.ccweek.com/.
