"Celebration of the Arts Performance"
3/25/2011

The Pensacola State College Music and Theatre Department presents the third annual “Celebration of the Arts Performance.”

The free event is 7:30 p.m. April 15 at the Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium, Building 8, on the Pensacola campus.

The production combines the talents of Pensacola State faculty members and students in music, dance, theatre and visual arts. This year’s show features performances by student vocalists Tiffany Castillo and Nathaniel Williams; solo student pianists Rebecca Palmer and Matt Dailey; solo student trombone player Jackson Willis; and an original student composition for guitar by Ben Parson. The production also presents original dance performances by Pensacola State students and members of SWERVE Dance company; a 10-minute comedy written by theatre student Kip Hayes; and other artists.

“We started this event to allow the public to view in one performance the vast array of creative arts that is created each year by our award-winning faculty and student body,” says Robert Gandrup, technical director of the Music and Theatre Department. “Our goal is to promote the craft of each performing art discipline by promoting original work, music compositions, unique performances and new media performances to the general public, while helping to raise scholarship funds for music and theatre arts students attending Pensacola State College.”

While the event is free, tickets are required. Donations accepted.

For tickets, call (850) 484-1847.
