Jonathan Twingley, illustrator and author
Jonathan Twingley’s work appears regularly in national publications, including the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Atlantic Monthly and New Republic among others. In 2003, Print magazine featured his work in a showcase of artists under the age of 30. His work has also been recognized by the Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, Communication Arts magazine and the Society of Publication Designers. Twingley is a senior lecturer at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and lives in New York City.

Ted Metz, sculptor
Ted Metz has been teaching at the University of Montevallo since 1973. During his tenure, Metz has received many teaching awards including Alabama Professor of the Year, a national award presented by the Carnegie Foundation. His art has been exhibited worldwide – including at galleries in Venice and Cortona, Italy and at the National Gallery in Washington D.C. Metz has received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and has been awarded the Visual Arts Fellowship from the State of Alabama.

Pensacola State College Art Faculty Exhibition
The 2011 exhibition features a diverse collection of art – including ceramics, drawing, digital imaging, graphic design, jewelry, painting, photography and sculpture. The showcase presents works by Cindy App, Michael Boles, Bill Clover, Frank Donato, Mark Francis, Marilyn Givens, David Hinds, Mark Hopkins, Jim Jipson, Krist Lien, Larry Manning, John Olsen, Rachael Pongetti, Katherine Quarles, Kristen Regan, Doug Reiser, Patricia Reppenhagen, Pat Rowe, Vivian Spencer, Paula Work and Spiros Zachos.

Jaune Quick-to-See Smith, painter/printmaker
Anna Lamar Switzer Distinguished Artist
Born in 1940 on the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Indian Reservation in Montana, Jaune Quick-To-See Smith is an internationally renowned painter and printmaker. She has been creating complicated abstract paintings and lithographs since the 1970s and employs a wide variety of media – working in painting, printmaking and textured mixed media pieces. Her works contain strong socio-political commentary that speaks to past and present cultural appropriation and abuse, while identifying the continued significance of the Native American peoples.

Her art is in many private and public international collections including at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Museum of Mankind, Vienna, Austria; Museum of Modern Art, Quito, Ecuador; and Museum of Modern Art, New York.

Smith has been admitted to the New Mexico Women’s Hall of Fame.

Art Student Honors Exhibition
The annual exhibition features student work created at the Anna Lamar Switzer Center for Visual Arts. Student work is faculty-selected, representing the finest examples of ceramics, drawings, digital imaging, graphic design, jewelry, painting, photography, sculpture and video. Scholarships and awards are presented during the reception honoring student achievement.

300-Mile Radius, regional juried exhibition
This juried exhibition is open to working artists in a 300-mile radius of Pensacola. Artists are invited to submit up to five images of their current work made in the last two years. Perspective released in October.
