Minimum Qualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with a master’s degree in graphic design or an MFA with a concentration in graphic design; and motion graphics and social media design experience. Successful results of a background check are required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer post-secondary teaching experience; excellent technical skills with Mac computers and the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; documented web design abilities; and experience using traditional illustration techniques and letterpress. Duties:The Graphic Design Instructor position is a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position with an anticipated start date of August 2014, though the start date may be negotiated. The successful candidate will teach courses in both the Associate of Science and Bachelor of Applied Science degree programs as assigned. This position requires effective teaching and advising of diverse students; excellent oral and written communication skills; and a commitment to the comprehensive state college mission. The instructor will prepare course plans and materials, effectively deliver subject matter content, monitor student attendance and progress, participate on departmental and College committees, participate in curriculum development, support activities that foster retention, participate in the selection of textbooks, perform assessments of student learning outcomes, and take part in other service and professional development activities. Multiple campus, day, evening, and distance learning teaching assignments are possible. This position reports to the District Academic Department Head, Visual Arts.
Salary:$34,828.00 - $40,828.00 (Entry level salary is computed and based on authority of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.)
