PSC Swimming Pool

Pensacola State College Swimming Pool is open Monday through Saturday for your swimming enjoyment.   Water exercise classes in the shallow and deep ends of the pool, Adult and children swim lessons, and master swim classes are offered for all ages to work and swim at their ability level.

Recreation Swim time is open to the community to enjoy the pool without an instructor or coach.  Lifeguard certification classes are offered during the spring and summer semesters.

Greater Pensacola Aquatic Club (GPAC), a swim team, offers competitive swimming and swim lessons for children three years old through high school.

Pool Size: The pool is twenty-five yards long and six lanes wide and is heated to between 83° and 84° degrees.

Lockers: There are locker rooms available with lockers to store personal items.  Locks must be furnished by the swimmer.  Belongings may not be left overnight.

Our Staff: Our staff is highly qualified and experienced coaches, instructors, and lifeguards.  They will help you learn and accomplish your goals.

Pool Class Schedule:

Aerobic Swimming/Master Swimmers: 5:30am to 6:30am & 7am to 7:45am

Aqua Dynamics I: 8am to 8:45am, 9am to 9:45am, & 10am to 10:45am

Recreation Swim: 11:00am to 11:30am, 11:45am to 12:15pm, 12:30pm to 1pm, 1:15 to 1:45, 7:45pm to 8:15pm, 8:30pm to 9:15pm, & 9:30pm to 10pm

*Recreation Swimmers will need to reserve time to swim for 30 minutes or signup for a specific time. Two swimmers to a lane (12 swimmers at a time).

Swimming Pool Usage Fees

PSC Students and Staff FREE
First Family member $39 per term
Second Family member $23 per term
Third Family member $13 per term
Senior Club Members $25 per term

Senior Club Members are 60 years old and older, and pay $25 a semester for Senior Club Discount Recreation Swim once they have obtained their Senior Club membership card. The Senior Club Membership Card is $10 per year. This membership entitles them to use the pool during Recreation Swim time, as well as other activities the club has to offer.  Membership forms are available at the pool. Please ask for Kay Miller.

Master Swimmers Team

Master Swimmers at Pensacola State College swim at different times during the day and night.  They are swimmers, 18 years old and above, who want to improve their swimming ability, get a good workout and achieve their fitness goals.  They swim at 5:30 A.M. and 8:00 A.M. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 5:30 A.M. and 8:00 A.M. on Tuesday and Thursday, and/or during Recreation Swim Hours. The 5:30 A.M. and 8:00 A.M. swimmers register for a class called Aerobic Swimming, which has a swim coach/instructor who gives workouts to the swimmers, monitors their progress and helps them develop their strokes and endurance.
Some swimmers are triathletes, who want to improve their swimming ability to compete in open water swimming.
The master swim team at Pensacola State College is the Gulf Coast Pirate Swimmers.  The team is registered with United States Masters Swimming.  Swimmers who compete in sanctioned swim meets throughout the year are members of USMS.  For more information about USMS you may go to www.usms.org.

Aquatics Classes Offered

The Aquatics Program at Pensacola State College offers a wide variety of classes Monday through Saturday.  Students may work at their own ability while enjoying the water environment. All aquatic classes are offered under the supervision of the Continuing  Education Department.  Classes are water exercise in the shallow and deep end of the pool, lap swimming with a coach, swim lessons for adults and children, and lifeguard training classes.  Registration is required for all classes.
Registration for classes (required for all courses):

  • On the internet:  Go to Continuing Ed/ Recreation & Leisure Classes.  Click “Register Now” option.
  • Walk In:  Register in person at any Pensacola State college campus Registration Office between 7:30am-4:00pm. 
  • Mail In:  Mail your completed Continuing Education registration form, with payment information (do not send cash) to:  Pensacola State College Cashier Office, 1000 College Blvd., Pensacola, FL 32504

the Greater Pensacola Aquatic Club (GPAC)

Gpac Swim TeamAt Pensacola State Swimming Pool, the Greater Pensacola Aquatic Club (GPAC) offers a competitive swim program and a swim school for children 3 years old through 18 years old.  Their focus is on youth swimming, but welcome participation for fitness and preparation for other athletic endeavors.
GPAC’s mission is to develop all levels of swimmers and instill values and life-skills which foster success in all aspects of life.
GPAC competitive swim and swim school program time is between 3:00pm to 6:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Where We Are & How To Reach Us

The Pensacola State Swimming Pool is located on the Pensacola Campus in Building 3.  The address is 1000 College Boulevard, Pensacola, FL 32504.

MAP

From 9th Avenue, go east on College Boulevard to the end of medium and turn left into the big parking lot.  You will be facing Building 3.  The WSRE building, tennis courts and track will be on your right.  The pool is inside at the right of the building.
From 12th Avenue, go west on College Boulevard, to past the WSRE building and turn right into the first parking lot.  Building 3 will be in front you, next to the track and tennis courts.  The pool is inside at the right of the building.
